Day 14 - A picture of your favorite store

Grocery shopping is so... zen. I feel so grown up doing it. When I'm walking down the aisles, looking for all of the things in my shopping list, comparing prices, buying different cuts of meat, vegetables, cans of tuna, and toiletries then whipping out my advantage card and the "grocery budget"... I begin to realize that this [husband holding the calculator, daughter pushing her own cart] is what I've worked so hard to achieve --- the ability to buy my own groceries. And eat whatever the Hell I want. =)

It's such a lovely family thing to do.

And that's why I can't wait for one of these:

  1. Hey, where'd you get that picture of me and my Smart Cart? Haha!

My thoughts exactly gorgeous, down to the last line. I'd rather get a supermarket gift certificate or store credit than a clothing store gift card. I feel all lioness-hunter-gatherer when I'm in one of those big ass warehouse stores, armed with my discount cards and them coupons I carefully scissor away. And honey, I don't just know all the great bargains this season, I know all the INGREDIENTS. I know which brands have half as much sodium or twice as much sugar, or which drugstore sunscreen has methylparaben, or which product has more antioxidants. Haha. And it isn't weird at all. :)

  3. Uhm... no... that was pretty weird. Hahahahahaha!!! Hunter-gatherer! LOL! Man, I swear you go into a grocery store and you feel a sense of purpose, it's so... empowering, hahahaha! (and since I shop at SM supermarket), I always hope my total groceries allows me to be eligible to "spin the wheel" so I can get a FREE bar of soap, or sachets of shampoo, or a notebook. And I like eating at the grocery food stalls (Paotsin and their deep friend prawn balls is a fave =)

    Aaaah life's simple pleasures.

  4. is that where the top chef masters get their food???????!!!!! dude, i totally wanna go there (do we even have something like that in this country or is ours called a "palengke" hahahaha) man, if we had a whole foods here, i'd find reasons to buy all sorts of stuff. and i guess if you had all those products, you'd want to pull a rachel ray and start making those mean 30-minute dishes.

*sigh* I want to be rachel ray. or katie brown.

  7. Pao got me a Rachel Ray 30-minute meals cookbook for one of our anniversaries (monthsary ata or valentine's, I forget). Di ko sya magamit cuz... wala akong matinong pantry (parang ang daming kailangan "stock" food to have. I need someone to fund my MUST-HAVE RACHEL RAY STAPLE INGREDIENTS.

Hahahahaha her 30mins took you an hour? How is that possible when it's timed? Hahahahaha!!

Btw, speaking of palengke... syempre, naalala ko nanaman ang paborito nating palengke tindera. HAHAHAHAHA!!!

    Haters gon' hate. =)
