Comparative of the day

Sometimes I think that being in love... is like being drunk.

Seriously.

The senses are way too heightened for normalcy. And contrary to popular belief, I am actually looking forward to a mechanical but blissfully ignorant life with my husband, 3 kids, a dog, fish, and huge garden, a brick home, and a white picket fence.

And waking up at 6am and sleeping by 10pm.

......

But we just have to have "one more drink," don't we?

  1. This is so true. Who wouldn't want to be in an in love state permanently resembling intoxication? I think most of my in love moments were also my most drunk moments. Hahaha! Have you seen Marley & Me?

  2. Exactly!!!

I think the only reason why I was in love so much is because I was drunk just as often. =P (now I think that's a better way to describe my many past loves... as opposed to simply being slutty. =)

I've seen Marley & Me but I wasn't able to start it.

  3. oh. pero yun nga lang. nakakapagod din sya. to be intoxicated all the time. to be high on dopamine. i dunno. they say if everyone was in love all the time, we wouldn't be able to build trains or create new technological advances. we'd be sitting around all day cutting out felt-paper hearts and making scrapbooks and what not.

but now that i think about it... living like that doesn't sound so bad. =)

  4. Marley & Me has that white picket fence life, with their perfect lives revolving around a Lab. Wouldn't that be just wonderful?

I love trains and the next new invention, but I must say, I haven't seen felt-paper hearts and scrapbooks in a long, long time. I haven't seen a love letter in years! I'm wishing I had a mixtape courtship experience. Hahaha. Imagine getting drunk and decoding all the lyrics from a mixtape the bad boy (but its really just a facade) from school slipped in your bag? Hahaha me and my 80's teen movie fantasies.

  5. ah the mixtape...

"maybe this time" was a fave. hahahaha! i find stories of unrequited love, love lost then found very endearing. i actually still have scrapbook materials and felt paper lying around in my apartment. he and i each have a box where we keep our memorabilia --- movie tickets, love letters, receipts, tags... we even have a communal journal where we write down our thoughts. we just have to look for the page it's written on so we can read it. =)

have you seen "the family man?" i made pao watch it with me a few days ago... and... i think that's how he and i will be. =P you should watch it if you haven't already.
